Tučepi
The name "Tučepi" likely derives from the Illyrian "Tuc-epi," meaning "place at the foot" of Biokovo. The village was founded by the Illyrians before the Common Era.
It is one of the sunniest resorts in Croatia, with approximately 2,700 hours of sunshine per year. According to local legend, the Venetian Doge Pietro Candiano, who died in a naval battle in the 10th century, is buried here.
